Galapagos Islands, best island(s) once again? | Galapagos Cruises ...

Those of you who have recently booked a Galapagos cruise can rejoice because Travel & Leisure has, for the third consecutive year, recognized the Galapagos Islands as the best island vacation south of the U.S. border.

Its quite a prize? best island! And three-fold! This was a prize awarded by one of the most prestigious travel magazines in the U.S? and the world, for that matter? Personally, it comes as no surprise. Galapagos travel offers great diversity in terms of activities, sites, and exploration possibilities. The cruise adventure is also unique in that peculiar wildlife, enigmatic history, contrasting landscapes and mysterious atmosphere come together into what has forever been coined as a once-and-a-life experience. Of course, people now book Galapagos cruises two or three times in their lifetime, or come back to stay in a hotel.

The prize is awarded yearly, and carried out in the Travel & Leisure website (www.travelandleisure.com), where its 4,5 million subscribers can participate in what is coined ?the Travel & Leisure World?s Best Award?. It?s always nice to know you?re the best!

The award ceremony took place in Conrad Hotel in New York. On behalf of the islands themselves, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Tourism was present to receive it. Who will win next year? In my eyes, the Galapagos Islands will always be the best islands, no matter what competition they win (or lose).
