Tangerine
Tangerine is a sweet 2-year-old Lab/pit mix. This pretty girl is very smart and learns quickly; she currently knows commands for sit, down, shake and leave it/take it. Tangerine finds shelter life stressful and carries her toys around like security blankets while she waits for that special someone to be her forever friend. Although she gets along with some dogs, Tangerine is looking for a home where she can be someone's "one and only," preferably with moderately active to active people who are committed to training.

Solo Mio
Solo Mio is a darling 3-month-old pit mix puppy. With his furrowed brow and round quizzical-looking eyes, he just makes you smile. Solo Mio likes toys and bones and playing with other puppies. And he really loves sitting in your lap and being petted; he'll even return the favor with a gentle kiss on the chin. Despite his young age, this smart boy has already learned to sit, come, and shake.

Foxy Roxie
Foxy Roxie is one smart cookie! She is extremely motivated and has learned some great tricks at the shelter...like holding a cheese stick on her head long enough to take a photo (something she learned to do in only 20 minutes!). But this 6-month-old pit bull/shepherd mix isn't just a brainiac; she thoroughly enjoys socializing and playing with both people and other dogs. And, of course, she's adorable too...just look at those ears!

Didi Dumpling
Didi Dumpling arrived at a time when the Washington Animal Rescue League was completely full. But there was just something special about this 5-year-old bulldog/pit bull cross, so space was found somehow. And it was worth it. Didi is full of wiggly excitement when anyone wants to play or rub her belly, but in between, you'll find her sitting quietly in her den waiting patiently for her forever home.
While she waits, she's learning some useful (and not so useful) tricks, including holding random objects on her head long enough to take a photo! Didi was in a foster home during the recent power outage, and her foster parent reports she was great with both dogs and children and was also house trained.

Cowgirl
Cowgirl is a sweet and energetic 8-month-old pit bull mix. She was quiet shy when she arrived at the Washington Animal Rescue League but has come out of her shell quite a bit...and her confidence is growing day by day. Cowgirl loves playing with other dogs and enjoys meeting new people. She's already housetrained and will go to the door to let you know that she needs to go out. Since she has lots of energy and loves to run, Cowgirl would be a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle; she's also looking for someone who is committed not only to providing her with exercise but also obedience training.

Charlie
Charlie is sweet 8-month-old pit mix, who loves being around people and other dogs. He's an energetic boy who really enjoys running through the woods and playing in the water. Charlie is also very smart and already knows sit, down, stand, stay, leave it, back, kennel (go in your crate), wait (stay), up (to get in the car), and to wait politely for his food bowl. He is crate trained and housetrained as long as he can get out every 2-3 hours. A typical canine "teenager," Charlie would love to live with consistent people who are committed to giving him exercise, structure, and training.
