The Book of Mormon had been previously reported for a London premiere in 2013 with Tony-winning Jerusalem and La Cage aux Folles producer Sonia Friedman attached. She is also among the producers of the Broadway run.
The Daily Mail reports that Mamma Mia! will exit the Prince of Wales Theatre for a run at the Novello theatre beginning in September. Another production will take up residence at the Prince of Wales prior to The Book of Mormon's arrival there in early 2013. Talks are currently underway.
Representatives for the Broadway production did not have information on future London plans.
"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to the musical, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical.
A U.S. tour will launch Aug. 14-Sept. 2 at Denver's Ellie Caulkins Opera House, prior to a 12-week Los Angeles engagement at the Pantages Theatre Sept. 5-Nov. 25.
A separate production of The Book of Mormon will play a 12-week Chicago engagement at the Bank of America Theatre. It will play Chicago Dec. 1, 2012-March 2, 2013, according to the Bank of America Theatre website.
