Remains of the Day: Firefox 18 is Here With A Big Speed Boost and Retina SupportMozilla releases the latest Firefox update, Netgear launches a Google TV box, Target price-matches year-round, and Microsoft updates SkyDrive.com.

  • Firefox 18 Gets Up to 25% Faster JavaScript with IonMonkey, Retina and Preliminary WebRTC Support Today Mozilla launched Firefox 18 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. The latest version of the web browser comes with a new JavaScript compiler called IonMonkey that will result in better performance on JavaScript-heavy pages. Mac users can look forward to Retina display support. Android users can now opt-in for search suggestions when using the Awesome Bar, and will also recieve improved phishing and malware features.   • Google TV Set-Top Box for $129 Coming from Netgear Netgear will release a Google TV set-top box called the NeoTV Prime. Available immediately, the $129.99 device will connect to Google Play to access apps like HBO Go and Pandora. Also included in the software is Google TV Primetime, which recommends content based on what you've watched already. Might be worth considering if you're looking to ditch cable TV for good.   • Target will now price-match Amazon, other retailers year-round Target has extended it's price-matching policy to last all year. Formerly only offered over the holidays, Target will now match prices with competitors like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Toys R' Us, and even Amazon. [The Verge]
  • Improved Sharing & New HTML5 Features for SkyDrive.com Microsoft made some improvements to SkyDrive.com today. Now you can easily view what services have access or can be used to share each file via the Share option in the command bar. Also improved are drag and drop support and touch screen controls, in addition to general performance tweaks. [Windows Blog]
