$2.5m worth of hash oil found in Seaview Gardens

A large quantity of hash oil valued at some $2.5 million was seized by the police in the community of Seaview Gardens, in South St Andrew this morning.

A 59-year-old woman and her 29-year-old daughter have been taken into custody in connection with the contraband.

The police have not released their names, but say they will be charged for possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and using premises to store ganja.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reports that the hash oil was found during an operation carried out at premises in Seaview Gardens shortly after 10 a.m.

CCN says detectives from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division, which took part in the operation, are conducting further investigations.
